With pleasure, we would like to inform you that by the grace of the almighty Allah we the Rohingyas in Japan have formed an organization namely "Arakan Rohingya Organization – Japan (JARO) on 16th April, 2006 through mutual discussion and unanimous decision to advance the cause of Rohingyas and restoration of the fundamental citizenship rights, establishment of democracy , justice and human-rights in Burma , as well as to carry out social welfare and development activities forthe Rohingyas in Japan.

Singapore PM: Asean must address Rohingya

HUA HIN - SINGAPORE Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong for the first time addressed the issue of stateless Rohingya refugees fleeing Myanmar yesterday, warning that Asean must address it seriously or risk losing credibility.

While addressing leaders at the summit, he also made a pitch for Myanmar to engage with the United States and the international community, saying he saw a 'window of opportunity' for this now.

US wants Myanmar to stop persecution of Rohingyas

The plight of Myanmar's estimated 800,000 Rohingya, has been in the headlines since reports of serial abuse of the migrants by the Thai military.

The United States wants Mynamar to stop hounding Rohingya Muslims, a stateless minority from the former Burma's northwest region, Assistant Secretary of State Richard Boucher said on Sunday.
